The aim of Beach Games is to be a new world sports event that includes sports practised both in the sea and on the sand. It would be held every two years in different cities in the southern hemisphere and would be aimed at sports lovers and fans of the buzz that this creates who want to enjoy a natural beach setting. The First International Beach Games would be held in Punta del Este, Uruguay, in 2014 (and the next two would be in 2016 in Durban, South Africa, and 2018 in Byron Bay, Australia).
The project is structured as follows: one part deals with designing an enduring logo that can be used by subsequent planned Beach Games and the other with developing the overall graphic image for the 2014 Beach Games Punta del Este in line with the theme and location of the event. One of the elements that defines the graphic language of the project is the logo based on the logarithmic spiral that also evokes the idea of a shell or wave, both elements associated with the beach.
