The 7 SALVAJES group is a chain of restaurants that serve new Canary Island cuisine and which comprises 7 restaurants operating as a single unit: each restaurant is on a different island and gets its name from a species of wild, indigenous or abundant animal that lives on that island. Customers of 7 SALVAJES are interested in Canary Island cuisine and in the islands’ wild life.
Photographs of the landscapes of each island, together with illustrations of each animal, are the focus of these restaurants’ image, whose aim is to make their customers feel they are experiencing the wild nature that defines each island, as they are extremely different from each other. I have created the 7 SALVAJES using as my inspiration the simplicity and colour in the work of Canary artist César Manrique. Each restaurant uses as its graphic resources illustrations of the animal, as well as photographs and chromatic tones which represent the nature of the island itself, and the Bembo typeface, used in the overall 7 SALVAJES image and that of each individual restaurant.
