Ana Villagordo Vegara is an environmental scientist, environmental consultant, project manager and lecturer specialising in sustainability, communication and design. With more than twenty years of experience, she develops projects that explore how communication, culture and design can contribute to addressing contemporary environmental and social challenges.
Founder of AVV – Environmental Strategies in Communication and Design, she works at the intersection of sustainability, communication and design, supporting public institutions, companies and organisations in processes of ecological and social transformation.

Founder and Director of AVV – Environmental Strategies in Communication and Design.
- Coordination of Terra50 (Smart City Expo World Congress & Tomorrow.City), an international initiative focused on urban solutions to the climate crisis.
- Participation in the drafting, implementation and communication of Barcelona’s Climate Plan, as well as the monitoring of the Climate Emergency Declaration.
- Advisory and participatory facilitation work for Barcelona’s Natura 2030 Plan.
- Development of the communication strategy for the Environmental Quality Label of the Government of Catalonia.
- Coordination of the Catalan Ecodesign Programme, one of the first public strategies promoting ecodesign in Catalonia.
- Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Sants-Montjuïc Climate Emergency Office.
- Development of content and communication strategy for the Water Tribune at Expo Zaragoza 2008.
- Conceptualisation, coordination and curation of exhibitions such as Biomimicry: Design Inspired by Nature, Ambushes: Women and Forests and Climate Emergency.
- Editorial Director of Sostenible.cat and Director of Opcions, a leading publication on conscious consumption.
She is currently Course Leader for Ethics and Sustainability in Design at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and collaborates with various educational programmes related to design, communication and sustainability. She is co-author of Alerta Greenwashing. Greenwashing in Spain (2023) and author of publications, research studies and educational resources on sustainability, design and the ecosocial transition.
