What Humanity? The Human Figure after the War (1940-1960) is the exhibition that will be held at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC) from 27 October to 11 February.
Àlex Mitrani, lecturer on the University Master's Degree in Research in Art and Design and the Postgraduate Diploma in Exhibitions, Curatorship, Design and Spaces, is the curator of this exhibition, designed by Anna Alcubierre, coordinator of the postgraduate programme in exhibitions.
What Humanity? is an ambitious exhibition that brings together nearly a hundred works by leading Catalan, Spanish and international artists who, between 1940 and the mid-1960s, address the question of the figure and the human condition in the face of the uncertainty, mutations, failures and hopes provoked by the Second World War and its prologue, the Spanish Civil War.
The exhibition opens on Thursday 26 at 6 pm with the inaugural lecture What Humanity? The human figure on the threshold of war by Àlex Mitrani.
