"Visual journalism, design and business: new communicative narratives, new employment horizons", lecture by Jordi Català

On 4 December, as part of the Ninth International Latin Social Communication Congress, the lecture on "Visual journalism, design and business: new communicative narratives, new employment horizons" will be given by Jordi Català, teacher of Infographics in the 4th year of the Bachelor's Degree in Design.

“When the transition occurs in newspaper offices from infographics as a service or complement to visual journalism, as a genre, informing with images becomes a new journalistic subject that could have a great impact outside conventional media. With this important baggage and parallel to the crisis in traditional journalism, for the communicators (designer journalists) who are bold with the visual story implicit in the new communication narratives, doors will open in a new field of work to the infinite world of companies, marketing and business.”

Also, from 4 to 7 December, at the "La Piámide” building (Faculty of Political, Social and Communication Sciences) of the University of La Laguna in Tenerife, the exhibition “From the craft knife to the Net. Jordi Català: visual communication and strategies in infographics” can be visited, an explanatory journey through three decades of the history of infographics through his work in *El Periódico de Catalunya" and with a number of companies and institutions.
