Students of the subject Design of Ephemeral Spaces, of the second year of the degree in design, tutored by Anna Alcubierre and Octavi Rofes, participate in the festival LLUM BCN with the project Sensorial Discomfort.
The students participating are Margarita Pérez, Mar Senén, Júlia Vendrell i Mariona Vilardell, in collaboration with the rest of the students of the subject.
Sensorial Discomfort creates a disturbing while dynamic atmosphere that causes the viewer a feeling of discomfort and confusion. The movement generates light using rotating blades that draw colored lines that increase the feeling of speed. It follows a tension enhanced by the sound design, which, after a long and careful look, becomes protagonist.
The architecture of the Gothic patio invaded by the installation, becomes a contradictory landscape, still poetic. The sound and light creates a dynamic force that undertakes the visitor violently. A force intensified by the wind generated by the same blades and increasing the feeling of discomfort.
