Scenography at the Museu Marítim in Barcelona

Last May, 28th, students ofscenography, taught by Anna Alcubierre and Santi Vilanova visited the Museu Marítim of Barcelona, to observe the progress being made in the assembly and set up of the semi-permanent exhibit “7 stories, 7 ships” (7 històries, 7 vaixells) that will be inaugurated next June, 11th. The exhibition is ideated in relation to the museum’s collection and through 7 starring ships of very diverse typology, it is set to review maritime topics in a transversal way. The exhibit will have a 5 year duration period and will occupy 800 square meters. Studio Espai e has been in charge of the design and construction direction of the exhibition, using for the exhibit’s structure, 23 maritime containers of 6 meters, modified according to the intentions of the content disposition, scnenographies and audiovisuals portrayed.
