Results out of Introduction to Photography

Within the subjectIntroduction to Photography, taught by Núria Andreu the results of the projects of students of this year 2014/2015, have been presented, forecasting the experimentation of the possibilities of the camera to obtain images we read as abstract.

"In photography we play with the relativity of the definition of concepts, according to the degree of approximation or equivalence with the real. If we consider abstract the images in which the notion of reference is lost , these examples could mean that photography is a medium capable of transforming reality in order to build one’s own vision , unique or subjective , based on an idea, something attractive or any topic of interest, such as : the urban landscape , architecture, botany, textile , water , aging, the female nude , everyday life , bright graphics , car fans , the taste for fruits and vegetables , et cetera.

Following the theories of Laszlo Moholy Nagy –visual artist and professor of photography of the Bauhaus- recompiled in his book New Vision (1928), we can conclude that photography is a medium that allows us to see a different view to that of the human eye , with its own language and thanks to the use of technology . The interpretation of these images so bold as unrecognizable while decoded , is open to the imagination of each spectator; particular visual experiences in regards to one’s own approach. Thus, ask yourself : what do YOU see? " - Núria Andreu
