Outumuro at the Postgraduate in Photography and Editorial Design at EINA

Outumuro (Ourense, 1949), a national reference in photography, specifically in the field of fashion, participated last January in the Postgraduate in Photography and Editorial Design at EINA, coordinated Manel Esclusa and Dolors Soriano.

Outumuro, holding former education as a graphic designer, started in the field of photography self-trainned. He was a teacher at EINA for several years, teaching courses in Art Direction. After long stays in Barcelona, he moved to NYC, where he worked for different American publications. His photographs can be found in media such as El País Semanal, Magazine de La Vanguardia and fashion magazines such as Vogue or elle.

The exquisite session showcased his work, specially in the field of fashion and his portraits of Spanish actors and cinema directors. His talk explored the transition from analogic to digital photography, with relevant anecdotes from the use of Polaroids to test immediate light and composition within a space, to the possibilities of the tiny digital camera he carries on him permanently. A great opportunity indeed to acknowledge insights of a spectacular photographic carrer, narrated in first person.
