Mireia Aleu, winner of the 4th International Illustrated Album Award “City of Fuengirola”

The Catalan illustrator and writer Mireia Aleu i Barangé, former student of the Children's and Youth Illustration program, has won the IV International Illustrated Album Award "Ciudad de Fuengirola" (Málaga) with the work Petitíssim, published by OQO Editora. The book, which the author has written and illustrated in Catalan and Spanish, has also been translated into Galician.

The award, presented by Mayor Ana Mula, recognized her work among more than a hundred submissions from around the world, highlighting its visual sensitivity and poetic narrative. The jury praised its originality and ability to move readers through a simple and delicate story about smallness and discovery. 

For Mireia Aleu, this prize represents an important boost in her career as an author and illustrator, consolidating her personal style within the international children’s book scene. The Fuengirola City Council and OQO publishing house emphasized, during the ceremony, the importance of this competition as a platform to promote emerging talent and creative work in different languages.
