María García Ruiz, lecturer in the Bachelor in Design at Eina, is participating in the exhibition El espesor, included in the new edition of Fotonoviembre 2025. The festival, dedicated to photography and contemporary image, is held in Tenerife and is one of the main reference spaces for visual and artistic debate in the Canary Islands.
Curated by Dalia de la Rosa, El espesor conceives the image as a territory of multiple layers of time and memory. Each work condenses tensions between subject, object, nature, and culture, imagines possible scenarios, and questions a present crossed by climatic, social, economic, and political conflicts. In a context of visual overload, dominated by immediacy and fragmented consumption that fosters solitary experiences, the exhibition proposes a shift: to dismantle the logics that prioritize the individual over the collective.
The exhibition will open on Friday, November 14, and will be on view until January 9, 2026, at the Exhibition Hall of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of La Laguna (Guajara Campus, Calle Radio Aficionados s/n, 38320 San Cristóbal de La Laguna).
