Manel Esclusa, Honorary Career Achievement Award

Manel Esclusa, coordinator of the Postgraduate Diploma in Photography and Editorial Design at EINA, has been awarded the Banco Sabadell Foundation's Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award, together with the gallery owner Joan Gaspar, for their solid careers.

Both figures will receive the Honorary Lifetime Achievement Awards - Banco Sabadell Foundation during the fifteenth edition of the GAC Awards, organised by the Galeries d'Art de Catalunya, which will be held during the Gallery Night on 7 June at the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA).

Manel Esclusa (Vic, 1952) is a renowned photographer, considered one of the most representative creators of contemporary photography in Catalonia, who has developed a body of work characterised especially using light in dark spaces and marked by the introspective and reflective tone that his images express.

His work forms part of various international collections, both public and private, such as the Museum of Fine Arts (Houston), the Birmingham Museum of Art (Alabama), the Gabinet des Estampes et Photographie de la Bibliothèque National de France, the Musée Réattu d'Arles, the Galerie Le Château de Toulouse, the Musée de la Photographie de Charleroi, the Fundación Telefónica, the Colección de Fotografía de Alcobendas, the Fons d'Art de la Generalitat de Catalunya, the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), the Fundació Sorigué and the Fundació Vila Casas, among others.
