Iván Jiménez and Laura Mata, authors of Agapornis Magazine

Agapornis Magazine is a creativity magazine that explores the relationship between contemporary visual culture and pets.

Arising from the need of editors Toni Chaquet, Iván Jiménez and Laura Mata, the last two, former students of EINA, of finding a publication that would combine their love of animals and the passion of their disciplines, Agapornis reflects upon the link between people and animals and how this relationship is portrayed in art, design, photography or fashion.

The new bi-annual and international magazine, also has the intention of vindicating the role of organizations that work for the welfare and rights of animals. For this reason, each issue will cast an article with the projects undertaken by one of these organizations. The organization chosen for the first magazine issue has been Galgos 112, that retrieves abandoned and abused racing dogs. By purchase of the magazine, and through the website, readers will have the option of making a donation to the organization featured in each issue; a way to reinforce the compromise of the magazine with such animal protection associations.
