Iñigo Jerez presents the typography of EINA at Blanc Festival 2014

Last Blanc Festival featured a masterly lecture on typography by Iñigo Jerez, professor of the Master in Advanced Typography and author of the typography specially designed for EINA.

"EINA’s new graphic identity is the result of a long process and discussion that began in 2012. It responded to a willingness to go beyond a mere update or change of the logo. The program which was developed with ClasseBcn, as project manager, two fundamental ideas prevailed. First, to develop a very flexible visual communication system, applicable to a variety of physical and digital media on which the University is manifested. Second, a high demand in regards to the graphic quality and size of the project. To this respect, the response of ClaseBcn already earned the recognition of Laus Awards 2013.

What this book shows is a further decline in quality and maturity of the graphic identity that was in the past required. In the process of brand development came the need to solve typographic problems, for which the expert work of professor Iñigo Jerez was used. He undertook his work from a more general approach that has led to the emergence of a type family, as he explains in detail in the pages of this publication.

At this point the project took a turn and acquired a different dimension, as it seemed of interest that regardless of the practical uses, the work undertaken would be raised as a reflection of doubtless typographical cultural and educational interest. Iñigo Jerez, professor of the Master of Typography EINA since its inception in the 2002-2003 academic year is to whom we owe this lesson on typography of didactic attentiveness, herein. "
