Unboxing Eina/Idea is the inaugural lecture of EINA's 2019-2020 academic year given by Manuel Cirauqui, curator of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and director of the EINA think tank that will start operating in the spring of 2020. The Unboxing Eina/Idea presentation will take place on 4 October at 12 noon in the university's Hall of Acts.
The conference-debate will feature the participation of Dr. Pau de Solà-Morales, director of EINA, and will be the first public presentation of the Eina/Idea project, its core concepts and future programming.

Unboxing Eina/Idea is the inaugural lecture of EINA's 2019-2020 academic year given by Manuel Cirauqui, curator of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and director of the EINA think tank that will start operating in the spring of 2020. Eina/Idea is defined as EINA's think tank and artistic programming platform. In close collaboration with academia, although going beyond it, Eina/Idea operates through research cells called cabinets: conceptually unique workspaces with tactical objectives defined according to their guest agents.
Eina/Idea, on a practical level, proposes working seminars, conferences, performances and chamber exhibitions in which EINA students and the general public of Barcelona are involved. Using variable temporalities and typologies, Eina/Idea wants to be a vehicle for propagations of all kinds, from curatorial thought to meme and from documentary poetics to gaming; from experience design to applied critique. In short, Eina/Idea is a search intensifier, open to all.
Manuel Cirauqui is a writer and exhibition curator and director of Eina/Idea, EINA's think tank that will start operating in the spring of 2020. In his current role as curator of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Cirauqui has been responsible for the projects Soto. La cuarta dimensión; Architecture Effects; Henri Michaux. El otro lado; El arte y el espacio; y Anni Albers. Tocar la vista, as well as the Film & Video programme of this institution since 2016. He has also collaborated with the Tamayo Museum (Mexico City), Dia Art Foundation (New York) and Jeu de Paume (Paris), among other places of reference. In his educational work he has given courses, workshops and conferences in Rhode Island School of Design (Providence), Maryland Institute College of Art (Baltimore) and Haute École d'Art et de Design (Geneva) among others. He is also the author of numerous publications in specialized media, exhibition catalogues and art books.
