The writer, poet, professor and art critic Antoni Marí Muñoz, who served as a professor and president of the Eina Foundation, has passed away at the age of 82. His death marks the loss of one of the most significant figures in contemporary Catalan thought and literature.
The author of an extensive body of work—spanning poetry, fiction, and essays—he was honored with prestigious awards, including the National Critics’ Prize for Un viatge d’hivern. His writing was characterized by a profound reflection on European aesthetics, culture, and tradition, as well as a discerning perspective on art and literature.
