The exhibition project "Màxima rectitud" (Maximum rectitude) is based on the fascination of the artist and graphic designer Pol Pintó for the billiards halls and a family and vital route that favours the liking for this sport.
For Pol Pintó the practice of this sport becomes a reflexive exercise, where the deterministic philosophical doctrine becomes visible. Billiard balls are causally determined by the cause-consequence chain, without chance taking a role at any time.
The compositions of the works come from a process that goes through the search for manuals on billiard techniques and exercises, reinterpreting didactic schemes in abstract geometries, thus acquiring a new aesthetic and conceptual dimension.
Motivated by the search for austerity and simplicity, all the works are made on untreated linen and the only ink used is plaster by billiard cue, or directly on recovered locks.
In order to make the works, a drawing pen has been used (a rope dyed and stretched at the ends), moving away from perfection, and allowing the error to be glimpsed, where the lines generate an inconstant and uncontrollable thickness, creating a very expressive texture with a single gesture, a gesture similar to the one used to propel the billiard ball with the cue.
