On Wednesday 25th of January, there will be an exhibition in which the Artist Book TUSET STREET, limited edition of 100 copies, will be presented. It has been edited by Guillem Celada Prior, former student of the University Master in Design and Art Research. The exhibition will be open until March 31.
Tuset Street is a name chosen by photographer Oriol Maspons, who in the mid 60's overviewed a location and a concept: that of a new commercial hub in Barcelona, Tuset Street, which was even compared with Carnaby Street in London.
The street had a its own special section in the Tele-estel magazine, a seminar given in Catalan and edited between 1966 and 1970. The name was Tuset Street. It was written by Àngel Casas and it covered the events that were held on that street as well as music, fashion and literature, recommendations.
The section was published during 27 consecutive weeks in page 27 of the magazine. It is a unique document in which the names and that new cultural environment could be examined and known. This is why artist/historian Guillem Celada collected in a book this section, featuring also an interview with Àngel Casas and the collaboration of Maria Àngels Fortea, who recently did a thesis on pop graphics in Catalonia.
