Elena Castro al Museu Tàpies

Elena Castro at the Museu Tàpies

Elena Castro Córdoba, lecturer in the Bachelor’s Degree in Design and the University Master’s Degree in Art and Design Research (MURAD), will take part in a round table at the Museu Tàpies as part of the exhibition Germaine Dulac. Je n’ai plus rien. The event will take place on 3 February at 6:00 pm and will focus on the role of filmmaker and theorist Germaine Dulac within the feminine imaginary of surrealism.

Entitled The Rebellious Image: Germaine Dulac and the Feminine Imagination in Surrealism, the round table will bring together specialists in surrealism and in Dulac’s work to reflect on her pioneering contribution to experimental cinema, her aesthetic thinking, and her influence on the construction of new perspectives from a feminist viewpoint.

Dr Elena Castro Córdoba’s participation adds to her contribution to the publication accompanying the exhibition, for which she has written a critical text exploring these themes in depth. This activity will be of particular interest to Eina students —especially those enrolled in the course History of Modern Art and Design— as well as to anyone interested in the relationship between cinema, art and contemporary thought.
