The EINA Summer Course Barcelona dialogues: Architecture+Design is a three-week program for international students interested in Architecture and Design as crossing disciplines, and it will be taught in English.
Barcelona is a well‐known case study for urban planners, architects and designers. In this introductory part‐day program, students attend four‐hour workshops each day that alternate drawing representation classes, urban controversies debates, art in public spaces criticism, with classes that cover the history and theory of architecture and design in Barcelona.
In the program, Barcelona serves as a context for understanding design's role in the build environment and its relationship to the visual arts and the services sector. The sessions will combine visits and walking tours to the city architectural and design basics.
Students will understand that the meaning of works of architecture and design is connected to changes in social, political, and economic contexts through time. Also they will use their capacity for integration and synthesis of knowledge in different contexts and situations with flexibility and creativity.
