Bachelor students illustrate Mercabarna's 2024 calendar

Mercabarna has presented the 2024 calendar of the Central Fruit and Vegetable Market, with illustrations created by students from the EINA Bachelor in Design. As part of the subject Drawing Strategies, tutored by Mar Saiz and Miguel Bustos, several students were selected to take part in the Mercabarna Illustration Marathon, which took place in October.

The students had the opportunity to visit the Mercabarna facilities, where they were able to create their illustrations in situ. To do so, they had the materials provided by Royal Talens. The illustrations by Abril Acero, Arnau Montoy, Emma Pastor, Júlia Salvadó and Drake Williams were selected to appear in the 2024 calendar, which was designed by the Bildi Grafiks studio.

Thanks to this experience, EINA students were able to learn first-hand about the life of the market, how it works, the variety of products sold and the activities that take place there. For the selection of the winning works, it was taken into account that they reflected the visual richness of the market through the diversity of styles and techniques.
