“Through the facility Anatomia d'una illa a ulls clucs, painter Jordi Fulla, has an unusual and divergent look on the aesthetic and cultural points between East and West. Eastern plastics and thought is one of the main inspiration sources for the painter from his first trip to Japan in 2005. Fulla visits the island again ten years later to initiate a new artistic movement, inspired in the values that captivated him: the acquiescence of the landscape, the transcendent essence of their culture, the telluric mystery of their islands and mountains. A view that the painter contrasts with his own habits as a western artist: the need for the intellectualization of images, the rational exploration of the world, the critical questioning of the gaze, the romantic mystery of the landscape… Sixteen months of arduous pictorial reflection, in close dialogue with the curator of the exhibition, Albert Mercadé, with who he will share, literary, pictorial and philosophical thoughts in order to reach the creation of a final plastic stage, which will aslo be the synthesis and outcome of a new and important holistic view towards the world.
