Ampersand is an experimental typographic project compilation inscribed within the framework of 36 days of type. During 3 months, Oriol Cabarrocas and Dani Guix, designers and students at EINA, worked side by side with two photographers to generate a volumetric alphabet using manual procedures, to create physical parts that would then be photographed. Now, after some time, they look back in order to explain what it meant to them to carry out such a big project outside the university context. Ampresand is a final act, a celebration and a way to show everyone the effort behind each and every word.
The name of the exhibition is an allegory to the constant collaboration with other students and professionals that joined the project. A dedication to all those who contributed with their knowledge and helped expand the format of the project. It is also the precedent of a white space to fill, a way to say that what was obtained during the project will be the key for what comes next.
