Abril Chun Acero Miró, a student on Eina’s Bachelor in Design, has won the twelfth edition of the A Jump for the City competition with Line and Jump: Barcelona in Mariscal Code, a proposal that will become one of the obstacles at CSIO Barcelona 2026. The competition, one of the major events on the international equestrian calendar, will take place from 1 to 4 October 2026 at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona.
For the obstacle, Abril drew inspiration from Javier Mariscal’s graphic universe and his distinctive way of interpreting Barcelona. Colour, line and some of the city’s most recognisable symbols come together in a design intended to convey playfulness, expressiveness and a Mediterranean spirit.
“Barcelona is a creative city full of colour, and Javier Mariscal has been one of its great representatives thanks to his unmistakable graphic universe. His approach to drawing, line and form inspired me to reinterpret some of the city’s most iconic symbols,” the student explains.
A project developed at Eina
The design grew out of a project on Eina’s Bachelor in Design, developed as part of the Digital Representations III course taught by Jordi Esteve. Students were challenged to reinterpret Barcelona and translate their vision of the city into the design of an obstacle for an international sporting competition.
The winning proposal was presented on Thursday 17 September at Casa CUPRA Raval during the CSIO Barcelona Opening Party, before being installed on the Olympic arena at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona.
A Jump for the City is an initiative promoted by CSIO Barcelona that reaches its twelfth edition this year and aims to strengthen the competition’s connection with Barcelona through sport, design and creativity.
