einaidea invites artists, students, researchers, writers, and filmmakers to participate in Messinscena, an intensive, week-long collective workshop with artist Ludovica Carbotta, as part of the Ambushes program. The workshop will take place on the afternoons of September 28 through October 2, inviting participants to contribute to the development of Carbotta's long-term project, I Come From Outside of Myself. The week of work culminates in a public presentation on Saturday, October 3, at 12:00 PM.
Ambush #19: Ludovica Carbotta’s project originated in 2021 as an installation and evolved in 2024 through the collective writing of a screenplay for a fiction film set in the Venice Biennale Gardens. During the workshop, the group will conduct a collective reading of the script and share a speculative universe in which nation-states have been replaced by global economic states, artworks become traces of resistance, and the language of exhibition transforms into a tool for propaganda.
Drawing inspiration from the underground communication networks between plant roots, the workshop will explore invisible forms of cooperation, transmission, and resistance, collectively expanding the narrative of this new chapter.
Ludovica Carbotta (Turin, 1982) is a visual artist living and working in Barcelona. Her work investigates the relationships between fiction, architecture, public space, and social construction through installation, sculpture, video, drawing, and writing. Her projects develop speculative worlds that invite us to question political structures, forms of coexistence, and mechanisms of representation. She has exhibited internationally at institutions and biennials across Europe.
Participation is free, subject to registration. Interested individuals may submit their portfolio and a brief letter of motivation to einaidea@eina.cat by September 20.
Limited spots available.
