Master's in Advanced Typography and Page Design

Master's in Advanced Typography and Page Design

The aim of the Master's in Advanced Typography and Page Design is the advanced teaching and development of practical, professional or research projects in the field of typography.

The Master's in Advanced Typography and Page Design is aimed at those who have knowledge in the field of communication, as well as people who have a certain amount of practical professional experience. It is especially designed for those who want to specialize in page design from the deep knowledge of typography and its use.

The master’s degree is comprised of two postgraduate diploma courses that can be studied independently: the Postgraduate Diploma in Typographic Design and the Postgraduate Diploma in Page Design and Editing.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Typographic Design studies the letter considered as the base component of the page. The writing and the techniques that give form to the letter of manual character are studied to pass to the design with digital tools and the confection of alphabets.

In the Postgraduate Diploma in Page Design and Editing, the page is shaped with the available typographical and editorial tools, understanding "page" as any plan, individual or serial, where we have the visual information: the book, the poster, the magazine, the newspaper, the computer screen, etc. To address it, the course makes a unique approach: the page can be created with fixed and hierarchical structures to be edited without changing the formula or can be created from scratch from existing artwork.

Throughout the course, both theoretically and practically, these and other page models are studied and put into practice. Digital design models and editing flows are also dealt with.
