Tània Costa

Barcelona, 1967

She is a graduate in Fine Arts from the Universitat de Barcelona and a doctor in Fine Arts (2002) from the same university. She was awarded accreditation as a junior lecturer by the AQU (Agency for the Quality of the Catalan University System) in 2008.


She currently teaches 1st Year Colour and Volume and 3rd Year Design Trends and Visual Arts Workshop full-time at EINA.
Prior to this, she taught Domestic Goods, Latest Art Trends and Image and Communication Theory at EINA and Contemporary Art and Digital Aesthetics Theory at other design schools.

Professional / Research Activity

She has worked as a researcher on the UB Extensions research project entitled Extensions of Contemporary Sculptural Thought (1999-2001), led by Doctor Lluís Doñate. She has participated in philosophy and art conferences at a number of universities (UB, URV, URLL, UMA), developing themes on aesthetics and contemporary artistic practices, with lectures and publications, and she has coordinated art courses at various universities (URV, UB, UCE).

Before working in teaching and research, she worked between 1995 and 1998 at the studio of industrial designer Diego Fortunato. In 1996 she designed alone the Tres de vuit collection of candlesticks for the Artcollection series, produced and distributed by Cerabella.
