Within the framework of Barcelona Design Week 2023, a group of students from the 4th year of the Bachelor of Design and the University Master's Degree in Design of Spaces (MUDE) at EINA will participate in the project Hogares Impulso, organised by IKEA, Ayuda en Acción and Barcelona City Council, which aims to detect opportunities through design that respond to the challenge of access to housing for young people.
The average age of emancipation of young people in Spain is 30.3 years and the price of rent accounts for more than 80% of their wages, according to data from Ayuda en Acción. Hogares Impulso was created with the aim of helping young people to change this reality.
The project will be carried out in intensive workshops during 3 consecutive days, from 23 to 25 October, presenting their proposals during the last working session.
To show the reality that young people live with regard to housing, IKEA and Ayuda en Acción have inaugurated the exhibition 'Young people wanting to move to a better future', which can be visited from 18 to 29 October in the gardens of the Palau Robert in Barcelona.
