Ruth Bagan

She holds a degree in Art History from the UB (1999) and a degree in conservation and restoration of cultural assets from the ESCRBCC (2000). She holds a Master's degree in Museology and Cultural Heritage Management from the UB (2003) and a postgraduate degree in Ephemeral Architecture, Exhibition and Museum Installations from the UPC (2004). She holds a Master's degree in Preventive Conservation from Northumbria University (2013).

Teaching / Research

She has given training courses on the conservation of cultural assets at various institutions. She has participated as a teacher in master's programs at the University of Barcelona, the University of Lleida and the A. Gaudí Faculty. She is currently a professor on the Master's Degree in Advanced Methods in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Assets at the UGR-UNIA.
She has obtained research grants in heritage conservation-restoration at the UB and the CRBMC.

Professional activity

She has been working as a conservator of cultural assets since 2002, first in the field of painting conservation-restoration and later in preventive conservation. She has participated in projects for private collections and various institutions, such as CosmoCaixa, Disseny Hub Barcelona and the Museum of Natural Sciences, among others.
She has been a preventive conservation advisor at the CRBMC (2014-2017). Since 2017 she has been working at the National Art Museum of Catalonia, as head of preventive conservation. She is a member of the Technical Commission of the 2030 Museum Plan of the Generalitat in this area, as a representative of the Network of Art Museums.

Publications

She has published articles on cultural property intervention processes and preventive conservation in specialized journals and has participated in collective works such as Movement of works of art: loans, manipulation, conservation and exhibition, from the Museology Manuals (AMC) collection.
Speaker at national and international congresses and conferences.
