Teaching

He has been a teacher of illustration at the Escola EINA in Barcelona since 1995. In 2000 he designed and organised the postgraduate programme in creative illustration at the same school, of which he continues to be the coordinator. The programme has trained over 300 students from countries such as Brazil, Venezuela, Guatemala, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Greece, Switzerland, China, South Korea, India, Italy, Russia, France, Ireland, Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain and Macedonia.

Since 2011 he has also been a teacher on the Postgraduate in Packaging and Branding at the Escola BAU.

While studying on the programmes coordinated by Stanton, his students have been selected, published and/or won awards in such competitions as: The LAUS prizes, 3X3 magazine, Mercedes Benz, Illy Café, KIA, La Fura dels Baus, La Vanguardia, Grupo Planeta, El Periódico, Marc Martí, UAB, SOS Racismo, Una ma de contes (TVC), Que Leer, Letras Libres, Grupo Reporter, Yorokobu, Font Vella, Bologna Children's Book Fair and others.

As a teacher, he is able to give lessons in Spanish, English, Catalan or Italian.

Professional / Research Activity

He moved to Barcelona in 1988, where he is part of the Stanton Studio visual communication group. Since then, he has taken part in over 50 solo and group exhibitions and has collaborated with Spanish and international publications and companies.

His clients include such companies as: Nestle, Altoids, Coca Cola, Henkel, Absolut Vodka, Granini, Codorniu, Gallina Blanca, Nutrexpa, Eroski, San Miguel, Mercedes Benz, Grupo Almirall, Camper, Timberland, Roca, Fútbol Club Barcelona, UEFA, Cambridge University Press, Universidad de Navarra, Esade, Grupo Planeta, Grupo SM, Grupo Edebe, La Vanguardia, El Mundo, El Periodico, RTVE, TVC, Hines, Port Forum, La Caixa, Banc Sabadell, Intermón/Oxfam, Port Aventura and Joan Manel Serrat

And public administrations such as: The Government of Catalonia and Barcelona and Vigo city councils.

Some of the projects completed for these clients have won awards or been selected in competitions such as: British Design and Art Direction (UK), The Type Director´s Club (EEUU), European Illustration (UK), The Cresta Awards (EEUU), Premios LAUS/ADGFAD (ES), Premio Destino Apel.les Mestres (ES), Premios Best Pack (ES), Premis Junceda de ilustracion (ES) and others.

Between 1995 and 1997 he was board member of the Committee of ADGFAD (Association of Spanish Graphic Designers) as International Relations Manager, and representative for Spain in the Art Directors Club of Europe.

Publications

As a children's and adults' book illustrator, he has published over 40 titles, including collaborations with authors such as Emili Teixidor, Jordi Sierra i Fabra, Ray Bradbury, Naguib Mahfouz, Lee Bennett Hopkins, J. Patrick Lewis, Juan Carlos Martín Ramos, Tomàs Garcés and Jorge Zentner.

Work

In turn, he is author and illustrator of the series of illustrated albums "Misha, la gata violeta", published by Grupo SM and Editorial Baula, currently in production as an animated cartoon series. His works have been published and/or translated in English, Spanish, French, German, Danish, Dutch, Catalan and Italian.
