Begoña Sanchez

She graduated in Fine Arts, specialising in conservation and restoration, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona in 1995. She subsequently completed a postgraduate degree in Diagnosis and Methods for Preventive Conservation in Museums at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1998. She has participated in various seminars and courses on curating and managing exhibitions, organisation and communication in museums, as well as in debate days on museums and architecture. She has also completed an introductory workshop on Art Therapy at the Metáfora centre in Barcelona. She is currently training in a digital transformation programme.

Teaching

She has been a guest professor in the Master of Cultural Heritage Conservation at the UCM, with the conference “Preventive conservation in the design of temporary exhibitions” during the years 2018 and 2019. In addition, she has given a monographic course on exhibition production at the cultural heritage management company Veraicon also in 2018 and 2019. She has participated in the round table “The role of the conservator-restorer in museographic projects” during the 15th Technical Meeting on Conservation and Restoration, focused on systems and materials for the assembly, exhibition and storage of heritage assets, which was held at the Macba in Barcelona in 2017. Between 1998 and 2002, she has been a professor of drawing and colour at the International School of Fashion in Barcelona. She has also done the cataloging, written the introductory text and the reasoned comments for the catalog “Carme Balmas, Pictorial Work,” dedicated to the Catalan painter, published by the Vienna Art publishing house in 2011.

Professional experience

Since 2011, he has been the head of the Barcelona branch of the company Intervento, which has been dedicated to heritage illumination since 1993, as well as the design, production, lighting and audiovisual assembly of exhibitions. Previously, he was head of the art and preventive conservation department at the companies Método y Sistemas de Conservación y Exhibición between 2000 and 2002, and held the position of head of the art, cyberclassrooms and museographic production department at the company Cultural Sin from 2002 to 2011. In addition, between 1996 and 2000, he co-directed his own company, RE.CO de arte, specialized in the conservation and restoration of works of art.
