Ambush #16: Luce

Stemming from an interest in transiting the border zones of urban space, intervening in them with paint or graffiti, or tactically modifying places, LUCE proposes a collective pictorial action at Eina Bosc. Painting with the head involves the creation of tools, stilts or prosthetics using construction helmets, brushes, or sponges to paint the ceiling of Bosc's pergola through gestures that challenge the conventional formats of painting. The tools, once used, remain permanently installed on the wall alongside the legible traces of the performative painting process. Once the intervention is complete, the workshop culminates in the production of a publication with the material elements of the painting process itself, incorporating the language of splashes, traces, and stains as writing. This results in an expanded record of the action, which connects publishing, architecture, painting, and writing.

LUCE's (Valencia, 1989) work develops a singular interest in urban space, arising from the artist's initial connection with graffiti. Stemming from actions that explore walking, writing or the use of found objects, his practice often develops through painting, typography, calligraphy and subtle interventions; strokes, gestures or repetitions with which to slightly modify public space and thus generate new meanings or stories. His work has been presented in solo exhibitions at venues such as MiraMadrid (2025); Settantaventidue (Milan, 2025); ProjecteSD (Barcelona, 2023); OTR (Madrid, 2023); IVAM (Valencia, 2022); espaivisor (Valencia, 2019); Colab Gallery (Weil am Rheim, 2018); Espacio La Mutante (Valencia, 2012) among others. His work has also been shown in group exhibitions at Casabanchel (Madrid, 2024); Centre del Carme de Cultura Contemporània (Valencia, 2024); Aragon Park (Madrid, 2021); Condes Al Puente (Valencia, 2019); Espai Montgrí (Girona, 2019); among others. He is currently preparing a solo exhibition at ProjecteSD (Barcelona) for September 2025.
