FOURTURES

Fourtures is an interactive editorial project that poses questions like: will we be ready for the hypothetical end of capitalism? What will happen if we don’t stop climate change in time? How can we manage the automization of work on a social level?

The project proposes republishing the book Four Futures by Peter Frase, both to enhance the message and the debate surrounding it. On the one hand, I propose a paratextual interpretation of the text; that is, the layout and the visual characteristics of each page will help to explain its content. Meanwhile, an interactive experience will be designed using Augmented Reality (AR) to enhance debate democratically. This will create a real time map reflecting the opinions of all readers.

On a material level, the sleeve that protects the book (which has no cover) is made of stainless steel, capable of repelling all bumps and scratches, to represent the difficult futures described in the text. Only two colours of ink will be used: black and metallic silver.
