Electrical Engineer from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, with vocational training in the electrical field and a postgraduate degree in Lighting Design from the UPC. He has complemented his education with the Public Lighting Master Plan of the Asociación Electrotécnica Española and with studies in sales strategies at EADA.
Teaching / Research
He has published numerous articles, lectures and conference papers, participates in postgraduate and master’s courses, and is a member of the Lighting Working Group of the Barcelona Association of Engineers, the CEI (Spanish Lighting Committee), and Anfalum (Spanish Association of Lighting Manufacturers).
Professional activity
After studying Electrical Engineering at the UPC and specialising in Lighting Design and Planning, Viktor Vilarrasa developed a strong interest in urbanism and cities. He has over 25 years of experience exploring the most human and emotional dimension of light.
He worked in the Projects Department of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, participating in R&D projects, urban lighting, sustainability initiatives and master plans. He later joined iGuzzini, where he deepened his expertise in technical lighting, developing architectural, commercial and museum projects. After this stage, he joined Santa & Cole to coordinate the Projects Department, focusing on the more intimate aspects of interior and exterior lighting.
He currently heads the Projects Department at Urbidermis and works on defining some of the most significant projects for the transformation and humanisation of cities, such as Passeig de Gràcia (2013), the planning of the Zorrotzaurre Area in Bilbao (2015–2020), Plaça de les Glòries (2018–2024), Espai Futbol Club Barcelona (2021–2025), the Historic Centre of Valencia (2022), Superilla Barcelona (2023) and Via Laietana (2024).
