Mireia Teixidó

Gardener and tourism guide of Catalonia specialized in gardens. Trained in the specialization "Ecotourism" at the University School of Tourism and Hotel Management (EUTDH – UAB). She has completed the Postgraduate in Urban Narratives "Theory and Practice of the Historical Itinerary" at the Museum of History of Barcelona (MUHBA) and the specialization in "Historic and Unique Gardens" at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). In 2024, she pursued the Specialization Diploma in Garden Design and Art from the UAB at Eina school.

Teaching / Research

Since 2013, she has been a trainer at the Laberint Training Center, in the area of gardening for enthusiasts, of Parks and Gardens of Barcelona, Municipal Institute of the Barcelona City Council. She is a professor in the training courses "From the classroom to the garden: introduction to the trees of Barcelona" for adults in the Gaudir UB programs and in the UNED Senior program. She has been a lecturer in Specialty 616 Operations and equipment of agricultural production in the Intermediate Level Training Cycle of Gardening and Floristry at the Ramon Berenguer IV Institute of Santa Coloma de Gramenet. She has served as a nomenclature teacher in the Higher Degree Course of the School of Landscaping and Floral Art of Catalonia. She has worked as an expert gardening instructor in the workshops "Turn your home into a garden" organized by the Municipal Institute of Parks and Gardens of the Barcelona City Council. She was an instructor in the Garden Guide program of Barcelona for La Fàbrica del Sol of the Barcelona City Council.

Professional activity

In 2016, she created Jarditours, her own company from which she conducts guided tours to gardens, courses and training on gardening or botany, lectures and dissemination about cultural heritage, garden biodiversity, and their sustainable management. She is currently working as coordinator and manager of the guided tours program to parks and gardens of Catalonia, Spain, and Europe of the European Cultural Center. She is part of the Board of the Gardening Guild of Catalonia and works at the Casa Vicens of Gaudí, among others. She leads the guided tours of Jarditours for civic centers, schools, professional associations, and companies, among others.
