Teaching
He currently combines his professional practice with his teaching activity, giving classes in different interior design master's degrees at Elisava. He has taught at various design schools in Catalonia and Spain and has been invited to teach and lecture at the University of Architecture and Design CEDIM in Monterrey, Mexico.
Professional experience
After collaborating in different architecture studios, in 2006 he founded ‘Marcos Catalán, Studio’, developing comprehensive architecture, interior and product design projects. In 2017, he joined forces with the architect Marta García Orte.
Marcos Catalán & Marta Garcia Orte is an architecture and design studio where projects are developed in a precise, rigorous and rational way, with special emphasis on sensory aspects. The work is tailor-made for each circumstance, aspiring to improve the experience of the places in which they intervene.
Awards
Recently awarded the FAD Prize for interior design and at the XVI Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism.
He has also won awards at the Bienal de Arquitectura del Vallés and throughout his career has been a finalist on numerous occasions for the FAD, SALONI and Comarques de Girona Architecture Awards.
