SMLXL, an independent creative agency based in Barcelona specialising in brand identity, art direction and design, and Mallandrich, a design studio led by designer and creative director Gerard Mallandrich, have been jointly named Small Independent Design Agency of the Year at the 2026 D&AD Awards, held in London. This shared recognition adds to the multiple awards received by their projects in this year’s edition.
The news has a special connection with Eina: Javier Arizu, Anna Berbiela and Guillem Casasús, founders of SMLXL, are alumni of Bachelor in Design, while Gerard Mallandrich, founder of Mallandrich, is also an alumnus of the degree programme and a lecturer at Eina.
