Roser Bru. Overcoming distance exhibition

The Girona Art Museum is hosting the exhibition “Roser Bru. Overcoming the distance”, dedicated to the Catalan-Chilean artist Roser Bru (1923-2021) until March 30, 2025.

Curated by Àlex Mitrani, professor of the University Master's in Research in Art and Design and the Master's in Exhibitions, Curation and Design; and Inés Ortega-Márquez, the exhibition brings together nearly 100 works, including paintings, engravings and documents from Catalan and Chilean collections, to explore three major themes: female iconographies, democratic demands and humanistic and geographical references.

This proposal, which celebrates the recent centenary of her birth, highlights Bru's artistic and emotional link with Catalonia. With the support of various Catalan and Chilean institutions, the exhibition also dialogues with the exhibition “La anguila” by Paula Bonet at the Vila Casas Foundation, a former student of Bru, through a combined ticket that connects both exhibitions.
