Dr Lara García Díaz, lecturer and researcher at Eina, will participate in the XII Encuentro Ibérico de Estética, taking place from 22 to 24 October 2026 at the University of Porto under the title Modalidades de atención estética: contemplación, virtudes críticas y agencia.
García Díaz will present her paper Atención difractiva y experiencia estética ante el suelo on Saturday 24 October 2026, exploring the relationships between aesthetics, architecture and material memory. Her presentation will examine how the ground can be understood as a surface of historical sedimentation, a site of memory and a space shaped by ecological and material layers.
The presentation draws on the artistic and design research project Levantar el Suelo, developed in collaboration with María García Ruiz and centred on the concrete-covered courtyard at Eina Bosc. Through the act of partially lifting the concrete surface, the project seeks to reveal the historical, institutional and ecological layers concealed beneath it.
Both the research and the presentation form part of the European project Situated Creative Practices for the Plurivers (SIT-PLU).
The presentation will take place from 10 am to 12 noon in Meeting Room 2 at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Porto.
