Primera exposició individual de Zhang Xin

First Solo Exhibition of Zhang Xin

The Chinese artist Zhang Xin, alumni of the University Master's Degree in Research in Art and Design (MURAD), presents her first solo exhibition of contemporary art, Visions of Barcelona and Catalonia, at Espai Casa Piera.

The exhibition features a selection of works created between 2022 and the present, in which Zhang Xin explores landscapes, everyday life, and gastronomy in Catalonia and Barcelona. Her paintings capture the rhythm and soul of the region through a poetic and intercultural perspective.

Zhang Xin’s work is characterized by the fusion of contemporary art and realism, with expressive yet precise brushstrokes and a vibrant color palette. Her art reflects a constant dialogue between Chinese philosophy —influenced by Taoism and Confucianism— and the Mediterranean vitality of Barcelona, creating a space of encounter between East and West.

Born in Beijing and living in Barcelona, Zhang Xin combines her artistic practice with her educational and cultural activity at Eina, University Center of Art and Design in Barcelona, where she currently works as a cultural liaison between the Chinese community and the Catalan artistic and academic sphere, fostering dialogue and collaboration between creators from different backgrounds.

With this exhibition, the artist invites the public to rediscover Catalonia through a hybrid sensibility, combining technical skill, emotion, and reflection on cultural identity.

“To define is to limit,” says Zhang Xin, summarizing the open and constantly evolving spirit that inspires her work.
