He is an industrial designer by the FADU, University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), where he has specialized in editorial design and typography.
He has taught classes in masters, postgraduate and workshops of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), the Torcuato Di Tella and San Andrés Universities (Buenos Aires, Argentina), the Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche (Urbino, Italy), in the IED ( Barcelona) and in Elisava, Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona).
With more than 15 years of experience in editorial design and art direction, Sergio Juan has developed projects in Europe and America. He began working on newspaper and magazine design in the late 1990s, in the newspaper Clarín, Argentina. In 2007 he founded his own studio in Barcelona. He has designed Il Sole 24 Ore, Corriere della Sera, Il Messaggero and l'Unità, among others. He has been contemporary art director of several publishing projects such as Urban magazine (Italy) and currently Sirene (UK / Italy).
His work has received numerous awards from the SND (Society for News Design, USA), SPD (Society of Publication Designers, USA), Laus (ADG-FAD), D&AD (Design and Art Direction, UK) and ADC*E (Art Director Club, Europe)
