Teaching
Rubén is a collaborating professor in the Official Masters’ in Digital Documentation and in Search Engines at Pompeu Fabra University since 2013 and at the same university in the Master’s in UX: Usability, Interaction Design and User Experience since 2014. His teaching focuses on the design, development and evaluation of web content. Is an associate professor in the Department of Library and Information and Audiovisual Communication Studies at the University of Barcelona since 2015, where he teaches the subjects Search Engine Optimization and Databases at the Degree in Digital Information and Documentation Management, and the subjects Mobile Apps and Devices and Conceptualization and Design of Cultural Websites at the Official Master’s in Digital Content Management and the Master’s in Library and Information Services Management. He also teaches design for CMS content managers for the postgraduate degree in Web Design and for Module 11: Final Master's Project for the Master in Art and Design Research at EINA.
He has taught courses at the Official Association of Librarians-Documentalists of Catalonia, the Official Association of Librarians-Documentalists of Valencia, the Spanish Association of Archivists, Librarians, Museologists and Documentalists, the Service of Libraries of the Government of Catalonia, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the School of Design of Madrid, the University of La Coruña, between others.
Professional experience
Rubén has worked in specialized libraries such as the Documentation Center at the Museum of Design in Barcelona, and the Ateneu Barcelonès. He has served as a consultant on various projects related to web accessibility for public administration and to SEO for public and private companies. He is currently director of the EINA Archives.
Awards
- The 3000 Jr. Prize for the best final master's project in Library and Documentation Studies, awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya.
- Award for the best final master's project in 2015 on HCI by the Human-Computer Interaction Association (AIPO).
- 3rd prize for the most innovative university project in documentation and information management by SEDIC and Faculty of Documentation Science at Complutense University (Madrid).

Research
- Member of the Adaptabit Consolidated Teaching Innovation Research Group at the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology at the University of Barcelona, dedicated to the study of digital accessibility in teaching, research and innovation.
- Member of the Consolidated Culture and Digital Content Research Group at the Faculty of Library Sciences and Documentation at the University of Barcelona, where he participates in the research project "Analyzing the state of organization and recuperation of digital information and the proposal and evaluation of new methodolgical and technical solutions."
- Member and coordinator of the Free Software Working Group, for Information Professionals of the College of Library Science of Catalunya (COBDC), from 2012 to 2019.
- Member of the Research Group for Design Studies and History at EINA.
