Alex Posada

Alex Posada is a digital creator, teacher and researcher in the fields of interactivity and digital art. He is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection between art, science and technology through research and the constant development of his own electronic systems and tools. He also teaches in different higher education, masters and postgraduate programmes and has led several workshops dedicated to art and interactive technologies in different countries.

After finishing his studies in Communication Technologies at the University of Cantabria, Alex Posada moved to Barcelona in 2002, where he started working on interactive design and electronic art projects, and with the development of physical interfaces for musical instruments. He created and directed the Hangar interactive lab between 2006 and 2015.

He currently directs and coordinates MID Studio. MID is an interactive design and technology studio that creates installations in the field of digital, interactive and multimedia art. The studio's research interests include the use of light and sound as a means to modify and transform the space of human perception. Their work is recognised for creating specific software and hardware projects, demonstrating a strong commitment to the viewer's experience by prioritising the creation of content.

His projects have been exhibited at the Olympic Games in Brazil, Phaeno Science Center in Wolfsburg, Ars Electronica in Linz, Kinetica Art Fair in London, Kernel Festival in Italy, Mapping Festival in Geneva, LEV Festival in Spain and Art Rock Festival in France among others. His studio also develops installations and interactive projects for museums and cultural centres such as the Picasso Museum, the CCCB or the MNAC in Barcelona, Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid or Roca Gallery. He is also an active entrepreneur and co-founder of some start-ups in the technological field such as Smart Citizen, Oval Sound and Broomx Technologies. He also develops projects as an independent multimedia producer and collaborates with other artists and collectives.
