Module: Graphic Design Resources
9 ECTS
-
Typography
The subject offers intensive training in the theoretical and practical aspects of typography, a good grasp of which is essential for undertaking professional graphic design projects these days. The theoretical contents are accompanied by independent exercises and projects where the students will put into practice, investigate and experiment with the aspects covered in class. -
IT Resources
Proposals will be given of automatic correction and modification formulae, concept formalisation optimisation and the execution of originals.
Comparison of the technical options of each program (editing, illustration and photographic retouching) and the symbiotic relationship between them, emphasising the compatibilities and coexistence between programs theoretically and practically.
Module: Management and Production in the Graphic Design Process
9 ECTS
-
Graphic production
The aim of the subject is to understand and discover the professional relationship that exists between the graphic design professional and the printer, as well as each of the parts that make up the graphic process from the moment the idea takes shape to when it is delivered to its end purpose.
Study of the supports, processes and printing techniques in graphic arts and learning how to prepare originals for their reproduction. -
Design project analysis and management
The principal aim is for the student to familiarise themselves with the craft of designing. To do this, they will have to learn the tools they will need to be able to undertake graphic design projects, both in the framework of independent professional work and for business or institutional organisations.
The subject works on the analysis of the processes that help in the running of a graphic design studio.
Module: Graphic Design Projects
9 ECTS
-
Graphic applications projects
The aim of the course is the exploration, through graphic design tools, and subsequent creation of a series of coordinated elements that will identify a “topic” that will be presented in class. The subject is 100% practical and challenging for the students as they have to face the graphic dissection of the values of the “topic” to work on them separately, achieving practically experimental solutions, absolutely focused on the concept and function of the solution. -
Graphic identity projects
Students will create a primarily people-oriented project, questioning various aspects such as the brand utility, the function/aesthetic dichotomy and the personal attitude towards the creation or towards the users. A basic methodology is used to summarise the results of the design process.
The aim of the subject is to observe the context and meaning of the graphic and visual identity, and to know its elements and process from the point of view of its use, its perception by the public and its stages during its design.
