The design of cultural institutions and the institutions of design, art and architecture are the focus of this subject dedicated to the management, access and organisation of culture. Through practical exercises, shared readings and visits to galleries, spaces and projects, students will gain an understanding of the processes of institutionalisation, the professional environment, organisation models and the knowledge needed to create their own cultural project.
Thanks to the collaboration of the Disseny Hub, students will get to know in situ the group of entities, their internal management, functions, activities and future plans. This work will lead them to elaborate a contribution to strengthen, alter or deepen their vision, objectives and programme of the Hub.
The course is an opportunity to reflect on how we participate, create and manage culture in the local context of Barcelona and L'Hospitalet. Through the exercise of critical imagination, group work, speculative design and ethical positioning, students will acquire basic tools to analyse cultural institutions and propose other frameworks of management, production and relationship.
