Creation Laboratories 1 - Visual Practices

This course will investigate the overlaps and interconnections between the world of design and fine art through the concept of the multiple. It aims to reflect on the use of typical design strategies in the world of fine art and discuss the dissolution of the borders between these two disciplines. The course will be delivered as a workshop centred around projects overseen by the professor, but during which students will have a wide margin of action.

The course will be divided into two parts. 2D Multiples will focus on paper printing and the artist's book, while 3D Multiples will experiment with the varied possibilities inherent in the concept of the multiple by spotlighting other materials used for printing, such as fabric. Both parts will focus on the multiple as an object or a means for artistic intervention.
