Still Life Photography is a practical course, oriented to objects and publications, where the staging technique is fundamental. When the technique is mastered we can turn that image we have in our mind into a real image that excites. When the photograph becomes the result that we are going to show it must be a faithful response to the original idea and art direction.

Professionals and students in the artistic and creative field such as design, illustration, photography, etc. Or anyone interested in the contents of the course who wants to get started in this field. No previous knowledge of photography is required.
- Define an art direction and context to enhance the concept of the material to be photographed. This means working ad hoc to make the project unique and personal.
- To deepen in the techniques of lighting and photographic capture.
- Improve the ability to analyse an image to differentiate between good and bad based on objective criteria and not on mere fashion or subjectivity.
- It is important to master the technique at all stages of the process: from lighting, photographic equipment, the decisive moment of a shot, choosing the best edition and finally, retouching.
- It is necessary to bring your own photographic equipment
- It is recommended to bring your own camera
- Photographic tripod (optional)
- Laptop computer with software and image editing (Photoshop)*.
*EINA has computers available for loan which can be requested during the course.
Thursday 17.02 - 4 pm to 8 pm
Presentation
Explanation of the objectives and expectations of the students with the course. Explanation of their needs. Analysis of practical examples from the conceptual point of view and formal photographic resolution. Criticism and presentation of alternatives to the work presented as an exercise in reflection.
Request for the commissioning of a photographic project with each student's own work to be able to explore and carry it out.
Lighting
Different uses of flash, daylight, mixed light, tungsten light or fluor. Types of shadows and types of light.
Wednesday 23.02 - 4 pm to 8 pm
Cameras and lenses
What is involved in using each one and which one is best for the image you want to communicate.
Workshop
Exhibition of the work to be photographed. Presentation of the project and formal solutions.
Debate on the resolution of each work and the development of new ideas to improve the proposal.
Selection of three works to be carried out in the following session and creation of three working groups.
Thursday 24.02 - 4 pm to 8 pm
Workshop
Practical studio photo session with professional lighting equipment and/or daylight.
Three cameras will be used:
- Hasselblad (medium format digital with Phase One digital back)
- Canon 5D Mark IV (digital universal pass-through format)
- Mamiya 645 (analogue medium format)
The use of Capture One digital photo capture software will be taught, as well as how to use analogue film, traditional developing and scanning for digital processing.
Friday 25.02 - 4 pm to 8 pm
Workshop
Practical studio photo session with professional lighting equipment and/or daylight.
Three cameras will be used:
- Hasselblad (medium format digital with Phase One digital back)
- Canon 5D Mark IV (digital universal pass-through format)
- Mamiya 645 (analogue medium format)
Editing and image selection.
Thursday 03.03 - 4 pm to 8 pm
Workshop
Sharing of the proposals and work carried out during the course and final comments.
