Archive Service

Purposes and functions

The purpose of the Archive Service is to plan, implement and evaluate the management system of EINA’s administrative and archive documentation, and keep, preserve, organise, describe, and make accessible all th[e fonds, both administrative and historical of the school.

The objective of the Archive Service is to create a basic unit of information that contributes to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the administrative management, as well as the dissemination of EINA’s documentary heritage, ensuring the right conditions for their conservation and preservation.

The Historical Archive

The EINA Historial Archive conserves a very considerable number of original documents relating to the history of the school and the evolution of design, and design education in our country. This valuable material acts as a research source and is available to researchers.

Since it was founded in 1967, EINA has been both a pioneering school in the teaching of design and a place of cultural innovation through which many figures in our recent cultural history have passed, both students and teachers. As testimony to this, we conserve a documentary collection comprised of photographs, programmes and administrative documents of the school, correspondence and other handwritten materials, brochures and press clippings.
