Eina, Escola de Disseny i Art, is a cultural institution organised as a non-profit Private Foundation whose principal aim is that of teaching art and design, the fostering of creativity and cultural debate.
Eina, founded in 1967, has accumulated a wealth of experience in the dedication to open, innovative teaching related to international currents in the areas of art and design.
Its critical spirit, a constant factor in the School’s essential ideas, involves constant updating, which is why different generations of creators has sprung from Eina who have participated actively in shaping the cultural environment of the city. Eina, as a school of advanced studies linked to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, develops and undertakes its activities within the parameters of academic and the capacity to analyse given contexts.
Studies at the School are directed towards the research and creation of new languages, at the same time as being oriented towards the training of professionals and creators with technical qualifications.
Eina’s relation to the cultural and economic environment, and its contact with institutions and business, also allow its professional teaching to be given within the framework of a fluid articulation between training and work.
